Tomorrow Dave and I have our first appointment with Dr. L at 9:30a.m. Many of you know that we have been trying to conceive since August. In February, I went to a holistic doctor where we found out some interesting things about our fertility.


After my blood work was returned, I was told I have low progesterone levels. I was put on a prescription for progesterone. I took the progesterone for one week and then started my period - 2 weeks too early. When I called the nurse I was told, “There is no medical explanation for why you started your period early.”

Dave had to have a sperm analysis in which we learned his sperm count was a little low and his sperm are, as the nurse put it, “In no hurry to find the egg.” In other words, they have low motility.

The nurse told us these results are not the greatest, but are certainly not bad news. She suggested we visit an infertility doctor although at this point we are not labeled “infertile”. So tomorrow that is where we are headed. A friend referred me to this doctor. She was able to have her son through in-vetro fertilization and strongly recommended this doctor to us.

I am looking forward to tomorrow and will write about this first visit as soon as I can.
