God knew why

Apr 24, 2008

I know God has His hand in everything concerning our lives, but it is neat to actually see His hand at work in my life through something at the time I was very mad about. Once getting over being mad, I came to the conclusion God must be up to something and maybe one day He’ll show me what He was up to that day. He has, and I’d like to share even though it has to do with the timing of my cycles. So if the words “period” bothers you, just stop reading here. :)

Back in February I went to the holistic doctor who put me on a prescription for progesterone since my blood work showed I had low progesterone levels. Well, I took the medication for one week and then started my period 2 weeks early. Totally messed up my cycle and I was mad about it. I called the nurse and she said she had no medical explanation for why the progesterone would make me start my period early. She told me to stop taking it (I already had).

I never took the medication again and my periods resumed to the normal cycle I was having every month before taking the progesterone.

So yesterday we have our appointment and it just so happens my period starts today! I don’t believe in “it just so happens” though! I have to take birth control (I’ll explain that later) and I am to start the birth control on the day I start my period. Perfect timing to be able to start this first cycle of IUI as soon as possible! That unexpected period pushed this process ahead 2 weeks and put me right where we can start the process immediately!

That’s a huge deal to me because I am tired of the waiting. And to someone who is trying to conceive, 2 weeks can seem like an eternity!

God knows what He’s doing. He’s got the whole entire picture, unlike me.
