Happy 10th Birthday, Grace!
Jul 29, 2008
Grace is 10 years old today!
Nine years ago at her first birthday party she got so messy eating cake her daddy had to give her a bath in the church kitchen sink!
When Grace was around 4 years old, I'd take her blueberry picking with my dad. We would always joke and say we needed to weigh Grace before she picked and after she picked so we could pay for all the blueberries she ate. She would always eat more than pick!
I had always dreamed of Grace being the flowergirl at my wedding. Since it was taking forever for me to find the right guy to marry, I hoped Grace would still be little enough to be my flowergirl. At almost 9 years old she was my flowergirl.
And now here she is 10 years old. Grace is growing into a beautiful little lady. She is into American Girl dolls. It is hard to imagine Grace anything but a little girl who loves to play with her dolls and make crafts. But one day her dolls will be packed up in a box somewhere, like mine are, and she will be a young woman no longer interested in baby dolls.
I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in and through Grace as she continues to mature.
Grace has been a tremendous blessing in my life for the past 10 years. She will always be my little Gracie no matter how old she is!
Shane and Ashlie, you have an amazing daughter. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of her life.
