If God be for us, who can be against us?

Aug 08, 2008

Back in Bible days, people feared locusts more than their enemies. Locusts were unstoppable. They were capable of blacking out the light of the sun and devouring everything in sight!

They also never give up. If they can’t get in through a window they will climb down the gutter and come up under the porch. A locust won’t give up!

I can’t give up either. I must be like the locust and even after the defeat of the negative on Monday I must still keep praying, believing and fighting. Why? It would seem every cycle is doomed to failure and I should just give up my dreams of being a mother.

But I can’t and won’t because, “If God be for us [me], who can be against [me]?” (Romans 8:31)

Today, I can rest assured that God is for me. Whoa! Wait a minute here…the God who created the universe out of nothing is for me? Yes. The God who came in the form of a baby to be the Savior for all mankind is for me? Yes. The God who performed miracle after miracle is for me? Yes.

God is for me. God is for you.

God, what peace there is in knowing you are for me! I will not be defeated by infertility because somehow, someway, victory is assured. At this point in the journey I do not know what this victory looks like, but I can rest assured that it is mine.
