Fay FINALLY moving on out

Aug 22, 2008

Well, I think it is safe to say the worst of Fay is behind us. For the past hour or two there has been a calm in the storm. When the rains stopped everyone it seemed came out of their house and went for a walk around the neighborhood. You could see clusters of people talking all around the neighborhood. Everyone was stir crazy and just ready to be out of the house after two days of being stuck in the house!

And now just as I am getting back on the computer, now that the power has returned, the rain has come once again. Amanda just told me the news was showing that we were between two rain bands and so I suppose the second rain band is now headed our way. I don't think the second band is supposed to be as severe as this last one.

Other than completely drenched grounds, a lake that has formed on the easement behind our property and a broken fence that can be mended, all is well.

The westside of J has been flooded pretty bad. They are showing roads completely submerged under water on the news right now.

Hopefully we won't be without power again. Our power has actually gone off and come back on several times since we first lost power about 11:00 last night.

As nasty as this storm has been it does create a sense of awe knowing God is the creator of it all. And to think that this was only a tropical storm and not a hurricane. I sure hope J continues its trend and does not one day get a hurricane headed our way.

Slow moving Tropical Storm Fay is enough adventure for me!
