A Broader Prospective

Jun 06, 2009

These past few days have quite possibly been the most precious days of my life. Taking care of Little Bug and meeting her every need gives me a joy and contentment that just thrills my heart to no end.

I am amazed at how quickly we have fallen in love with her and how easily she has just fit right in with us. We are a family. Little Bug is our daughter and we are standing on the mountaintop with God praising Him for this miracle He has performed.

I am cherishing every single moment with Little Bug. I love getting up with her in the night for feedings. I can’t help but sit there while I am feeding her and marvel once again that she is here and she is a miracle from the Lord. To know that I hold her in my arms because of what Jesus Christ orchestrated over the past two years is something that I know I will never tire of thinking about.

I woke up this morning (before Dave and Little Bug) and was thinking about wishing I could keep Little Bug a precious newborn all the days of her life!

As soon as that thought came to my mind I knew me being able to take care of my newborn baby daughter was not why God created Little Bug and placed her with us.

No, there is a greater purpose here. A broader prospective. Sure, I will continue to cherish every single moment with Little Bug and I will love her no matter what stage of life she is in.

But I know God has marvelous plans for this baby girl. Plans that are far greater and far bigger than anything I can imagine for her right now today.

God has plans to prosper Little Bug and not to bring her harm. Plans to bring her hope and a future.

As her Mommy I count it a tremendous blessing that God has entrusted this little girl to us. She is ours – that was established one week ago today – but ultimately she is God’s.

As her mother and father our prayer for Little Bug is that she will grow up to love the Lord and have a willing spirit to surrender her desires for God’s Plan for her life.

It thrills my soul that Little Bug will one day be able to continue sharing the story of how she came to be our little girl so that even years from now, God will still be receiving the glory for the miracles He has performed in our lives!

Puppy came home on Thursday. She doesn’t seem to mind having Little Bug around as long as she can still find a spot on my lap too!

Little Bug continues to do so very well. She continues her 3 – 4 hours between feedings. We did have one minor issue yesterday. We ran out of the bottles given to us from the hospital so I switched her over to the bottle we had bought for her. She did not like the silicone nipple because the hospital bottles were latex nipples.

A friend of my mother-in-law had given us Playtex bottles that come with latex nipples and Little Bug liked those bottles!

I have a Baby Shower today given my mom’s best friend whose name also happens to be Elaine. Little Bug is going with me!

Little Bug and Dave are still snoozing away in the bedroom. Time for me to wake them so we can get ready to go. Daddy needs to do therapy with Little Bug before we go and I am going to bathe Little Bug and dress her in a beautiful dress her Grandma (Dave’s mom) bought her – if it isn’t too big! :)
