the coolest thing
Oct 26, 2009
I think this is just the coolest thing ever and it goes to show that God is intricately involved in every single detail of our lives.
Listen to this:
A blogger friend of mine named Jenileigh at The Red Stain has three daughters. For five years she and her husband desired to add another child to their family with no success year after year after year.
I read Jenileigh’s blog as she went through the agony of desiring to achieve pregnancy but not being able to. She and her husband did several treatments until about a year ago.
A year ago, Jenileigh felt God was telling her to be satisfied with the girls she already had and they stopped doing infertility treatments.
Jenileigh’s oldest daughter is Heaven. Heaven got married this past May, took state board exams in August, is working a full-time job and is going to college full-time! Her plate has been extremely full over the past few months and she has spent many late nights at her mom’s house, in tears, trying to get all her school work completed.
This past week Heaven got off work around midnight and headed to her mom’s house. Jenileigh was up and heard her come in the door crying.
Jenileigh tried to comfort her but Heaven just couldn’t stop crying. She was going on and on telling her mom about the horrible night she had had at work when Jenileigh started thinking and wondering if maybe, just maybe her daughter was … pregnant??
When Jeni brought it up to Heaven she immediately said there was no way she was pregnant because her periods were messed up.
Jeni asked Heaven how late she was and Heaven told her she was about 10 days late but had been 18 days late last month and she wasn’t pregnant.
Jeni tells Heaven she has some left over pregnancy tests in the bathroom. She asks Heaven to take one.
Still continuing to sob, Heaven agrees to take a pregnancy test.
Heaven pees in a cup while sobbing, Jeni takes the test over to the counter while Heaven switches gears and starts talking about having a urinary tract infection.
Jeni’s eyes are fixated on the the little timer on the pregnancy test while Heaven continues to sob and ramble on about work and urinary tract infections.
Suddenly, PREGNANT pops up in the window!
Jeni has to then yell at Heaven to get her attention and tell her that she is PREGNANT!
When Heaven hears what her mother is telling her she is completely quiet! And then the celebrations begin. By this time, it is 1am and they go to everyone in the house sharing the news!
When I read this on Jeni’s blog I just couldn’t help but think about how incredible this moment was for Jeni!
To have endured years of negative pregnancy tests and then have the special honor and privilege of seeing your own daughter’s pregnancy test turn positive right before your very eyes, has to be so incredible!
I just think it is cool that God let it happen that way!
What a special moment for a mother and daughter, but especially a mother who has walked the road of infertility.
