Today is Dave’s Birthday!

He and Little Bug are sleeping so I thought I would write a post about an incredible man that was born 25 years ago today.

I met Dave almost 4 years ago. In fact, it will be 4 years on January 26th. He had just turned 21 years old and I was amazed that he was so young. (He still is. I’m the old one around here!)

I love the way my husband thinks. He is incredibly smart and I am not just saying that. He is sometimes too smart for his own good.

He’s a problem solver and logical thinker. He puts his mind to something and nothing stands in his way.

Dave started his job as a computer programmer right after graduating college 2.5 years ago. It has been amazing to watch him grow and progress with the company he works for. He’s a perfectionist (like me!) in his job and is always looking at ways to “get better”. He’s a hard worker and takes pride in providing for his family so that I am able to stay at home with Little Bug.

Dave is an even more amazing Daddy. He knows how to balance work and family beautifully. Dave does not hesitate to jump into action in the care of Little Bug, especially if he knows I’ve had a challenging day with her!

Dave bathes Little Bug every night and then on most Saturday mornings, he takes over her care so I can sleep in.

I guess you could say I made Dave “grow up fast” because we met when he was 21 and I was approaching 25. We married when he was 22 and he became a Daddy at the age of only 24.

He takes his role as husband and father seriously. It never ceases to amaze me that as I was waiting for the Lord to bring my husband into my life, I was waiting for Dave. He is absolutely perfect for me and I can hardly remember my life pre-Dave.

Our marriage endured a lot during our 2 year battle with infertility. Dave, along with God, were my solid rock in the midst of all that turmoil.

We are a team, with Christ as our head, and I look forward to the years to come.
