Peaceful day of Travel
Jan 03, 2010
Today was … awesome!
God used today to teach me once again that He really does care even about the smallest details of our lives.
I was really nervous about today. I could just see myself as the mother trapped on an airplane with her screaming baby and NOT being able to make her stop crying! Then I was nervous about Little Bug missing naps today because of travel because a tired Little Bug is a cranky Little Bug!
I had set my alarm to go off at 5:20am but I woke up on my own at 5am. I don’t know what compelled me to roll out of bed at that hour of the day, knowing I had 20 more minutes to snooze. But I rolled out of bed, picked up my Bible and went to my closet. And there I spent the next 20 minutes with the Lord giving him my worries of the day.
He lead me to a verse in Isaiah 41:13, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
I had written “IVF verse” beside that verse in my Bible. However, today I claimed that verse because I knew I needed God’s help to get my child and myself to Texas today in peace instead of chaos.
And you know, today was such a peaceful day! Little Bug did fabulous on the entire trip!
I had a bottle ready for take off but she finished it before we got off the ground (because they had to de-ice the plane) and was asleep for take-off. Having never been on an airplane before, I thought for sure take off would wake her up, but she slept right through it.
Little Bug is such a social butterfly! She made friends with the girl sitting across the isle from us. She played. She pooped. (Did you know airplanes have a changing table in the bathroom? I had never noticed it until today!) She looked out the window with her uncle. She tried to eat the arm rest. She played with some toys. She slept again. She only got cranky when she was sleepy.
Little Bug took 3 good naps once we arrived at my aunt and uncle’s house.
I thank the Lord that He allowed today to be so peaceful for all!
