Leaps and Bounds of Growing

Jan 20, 2010

I can tell we are about to enter a very FUN phase with Little Bug. Month seven for her is proving to be a month of much growth and development.

It is amazing what she has learned to do since Christmas!

For the past week or so Little Bug has wanted to crawl SO BAD! For about a week she would get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. Then, last night, she crawled towards her bottle! Today, she has continued to practice and I know before long she will be crawling all over the place!DSCN1609

She is very close to being able to get herself into a sitting position!

While in Texas Little Bug started reaching up for me to pick her up. That is by far the CUTEST THING EVER! Nothing beats those little pudgy hands reaching for her Mommy to pick her up!DSCN1627

We gave solids another try and it was a success! Little Bug downed about half a jar of baby food squash on the first day (1/15/10). She kept opening her mouth for more. Remember, I tried solids with her about 2 months ago but things just didn’t go well. Then, the busy holidays came and I just put it on the back burner and then we went to Texas. The second food she tried was peas and those are definitely not a favorite for her. She will eat them but after a few bites she starts gagging! She is now eating solids three times day. The next solid she will try is green beans.382

Little Bug cut one of her front teeth while in Texas! This time around I could tell that it was bothering her some. She also had a runny nose. I decided to give her Motrin (at night) to help with the pain and it really did seem to help her sleep well. Now, the other front tooth is starting to cut through. Just today I saw another top tooth beginning to make an appearance. Wow!

I know the months before crawling begins are referred to as the “Golden Months” for baby because you can put them on the floor with toys and they can play in one area without “getting into everything”, but I am really looking forward to Little Bug being able to get around. (I may eat those words in a month from now!!)

Little Bug is such a curious little girl. I cannot wait to see her explore her world. I know life will only get more interesting when Little Bug starts to crawl. I think she will be even happier once her body catches up to her mind and she can actually get around on her own.

There will be no stopping her!!

FUN TIMES!!
