Things are still basically the same from the last update. Mom is getting another chance to prove that she can parent over the next 2 months. Baby Sunshine is having regular visits with mom. Baby Sunshine still cries every time Mom comes around. It will ultimately be the social worker’s decision as to who will get custody of Baby Sunshine.

Laura and Jeremy are hanging in there. Their faith is astounding. They are asking people to pray that God would use the government to place this child where HE wants. Scripture clearly tells us in Romans 13 that God has placed the government as authority but that He is ultimately the One in charge of the government.

As I’ve said from the beginning, we would love to see Baby Sunshine placed with Jeremy and Laura. However, our ultimate desire is God’s will for this child.

Reminds me all to well of my constant prayers for God to please allow me to conceive. He never did. His plan was just different from my heart’s desire. As anyone who ultimately desires the Will of God over their own desires learns, God’s Will is perfect and better than what we can imagine.

The same is true in the case of Baby Sunshine. Laura and Jeremy believe this way too … which is why they (we) are asking people to pray that God would use the government to either quickly prove that birth mom is capable of parenting or that He would use the government to quickly prove birth mom is not capable of parenting and terminate her parental rights.
