Curious Georgette

Little Bug is incredibly curious about everything. People tell me all the time how alert she is.

This has become a problem at meal time.

So much so that I have had to take some drastic measures to make sure there will be no interruptions while she drinks her bottle.

Pup is her biggest distraction while eating!

Pup loves to sit at the back door and bark her head off at squirrels that run along the back fence.

If Pup barks while Little Bug is drinking her bottle, she stops eating and has to look at the action. Even if she couldn’t wait to get the bottle in her mouth when she first saw it coming, she has to stop and see what is going on.

Sometimes, she would even decide she was done with eating and just wanted to put her focus on the distractions.

Little Bug cannot afford to miss ounces of formula! She was only 15.5 pounds at 8 months old!

So, I now close the curtains to the sliding glass door that Pup looks out of and lean the gate on the curtains so Pup can’t go behind the curtains to still look out.

That works to keep Pup from barking and Little Bug’s mind on eating instead of the world around her.

I love that Little Bug is so curious. She’s been like this since she became aware of her surroundings.

It’s a wonderful thing, I know. Just not at eating times! :)
