4-hour Schedule a No-Go

Mar 17, 2010

Time change has got to be the dumbest thing on earth.

Why can’t we just leave it be instead of switching things up every half year.

I decided to try the 4 hour feeding schedule with Little Bug today and things just aren’t going well.

I don’t know what her deal is. I thought for sure she’d be starving for a bottle after 4 hours. She is ready for it because those 30 minutes she has waited today to get to the 4 hour mark have been full of crankiness and fussing.

Then, when she sees the bottle coming you can tell she really wants it. I’m trying the 8 ounces every 4 hours today. Today at the 3:30 feeding she ate 4 ounces and was done. Really?

Guess here is another example of always go with your gut (motherly) instinct because I had a feeling this (4-hour schedule) wasn’t going to work.

Before the stupid time change we had a great feeding/sleeping schedule. Bottle at 7:30am. Nap at 9:30am. Bottle at 11/11:30am. Nap at 12:30/1pm. Bottle 2/3pm. Nap 5:30ish. Bottle 6pm (only 3 ounces). Bath at 7:30pm. Bottle at 8pm. Bed 8:15/8:30pm.

Tomorrow I’m just going to try that again since it was working so well before Sunday.

And if things go back to where they were before “springing forward” I’ll just know to not try to fix something that isn’t broken ever again! :)
