Aggravated

So remember last week Little Bug had the fever? Well, that lasted three days and then it was gone. And was replaced with a bad case of the crankies.
And I do mean … a bad case.
For example, Little Bug woke up crying this morning. Very unusual. Then, I put her at the table to eat breakfast and while I was fixing her waffle she cried the entire time.
And I do mean the entire time. I tried to ask her what was wrong. I asked her if she had a boo-boo.
Nothing but big ‘ol alligator tears. So, I knew something had to be wrong. Because this is completely abnormal for Little Bug.
I called the doctor’s office and they gave me an appointment for 2:15 today.
Thank you. Right in the middle of naptime. This will be lovely. (I know. You take what you get on the day of. I know.)
So we get there early. Because I thought that if we got there early we could get on in, be seen and then be on our way with an ear infection diagnosis or something like that, and then go to my mom’s for a late nap.
We are taken back and wait for an HOUR before being seen. What does Little Bug do during this time?
Well, she had been sleeping in the stroller! Until it was just imperative that she be weighed. So I woke her up to be weighed and then we proceeded to sit and wait for an hour.
Little Bug played in the room for about half that time and then it was alligator tears once again. (I was actually glad she was crying in a way, because I was wondering if they had forgotten us in there. We usually never wait. Even for a last minute visit.)
My mom and aunt were in the area shopping and when I text my mom what was going on they said they were on the way to wait with us!
(I am so incredibly blessed to have family in town all the time!)
Grandma and Mimi came to the rescue and took over trying to entertain the Miss Crankypants.
Finally, the nurse came in to see us. Ears were fine and we decided to check for a UTI.
I thought, Finally! This has got to be it!! We will get answers, a prescription and my Little Bug will be good as new tomorrow!
We held down a screaming Little Bug while the nurse attached a bag to her to catch her pee. And then we waited for Little Bug to pee.
Pee she did and then the nurse comes back and says, “Everything looks great! No infection!”
Yippee.
I mean, I was glad that my baby didn’t have a UTI, but I wanted some reason for all this drama, ya know??!!
Like I said, my baby isn’t cranky for no reason at all. There is ALWAYS a reason.
Always.
Growth spurt. Hunger. Sleepy. Teething. Wants Mama.
Little Bug doesn’t cry just to be grumpy or just to cry.
So, I guess all the drama is from teething??
I’m aggravated because I hate not knowing what is wrong with her!
This too shall pass…
