ABC’s of Me

Feb 20, 2011

Saw this on another blog and thought I’d do it just for fun! Smile

(A) Age: 29. In exactly 4 months from today, I will be 30. At times I feel that is extremely old, but then I know it’s really not. But I guess when your husband is only 26, it does make you feel really old. But I know. I am not old. I bet if you asked my Grandpa if he is old he would say no, too, and he is 85. So, I guess old is a state of mind. In that case, I will never be old, either.

(B) Bed Size: Queen

(C) Chore You Hate: Cleaning the shower/bathtub…all other chores I love because I am weird and like to clean. I like the results of cleaning the shower/bathtubs, just not the process.

(D) Dogs? One miniature schnauzer named Pup. She is 5 years old and the neediest little dog you will ever meet.

(E) Essential Start Your Day Item: Little Bug! After she wakes up I walk to her room, scoop her out of her crib, walk to the fridge and get her milk and then we go back to our bed to snuggle and drink milk. During this time Little Bug is usually saying, “Milt (milk) time!!”

(F) Favorite Color: Blue…actually, I don’t have a “favorite” because I like blue, green, purple and pink.

(G) Gold or Silver? Gold.

(H) Height: 5'3"

(I) Instruments You Play: Took piano as a child/teenager. Can play a few songs. I don’t play much because I don’t own a piano, but my parents do, so I will occasionally play the few songs I know there.

(J) Job Title: Stay at home mom (I can’t imagine life any other way! I LOVE being home with my girl.) Before motherhood, I was a 4th grade teacher in the public school system. I believe my teaching days in the public school system are over, though. I will not be sending my children there and don’t see myself returning either. After my children are grown, I see myself working/volunteering at a Crisis Pregnancy Center or an Adoption Agency and writing a book.

(K) Kids: Little Bug, who is almost 21 months old! Now, that is old when talking about a baby!

(L) Live: Somewhere in the USA.

(M) Mom's Name: Mama (She’s the best Mama ever.)

(N) Nicknames: Dave and I call each other “Bug”. Why? I don’t know.

(O) Overnight Hospital Stays? None. Way back when, I would dread having to stay in the hospital after giving birth. Now I guess I don’t have to worry about that!

(P) Pet Peeves: When you can hear people smacking their gum! Drives me batty!

(Q) Quote from a Movie: Haha! This is a funny one for those who know me well. I have a hard time keeping straight who plays in what movie…much less remembering quotes.

(R) Right or Left Handed? Right.

(S) Siblings: One younger brother, Wesley. And to answer your questions about him in my Christmas Posts, yes, Wesley is single, yes he plays the guitar and cooks and is WONDERFUL with children. He is going to be a good catch for a very blessed woman one day.

(T) Time You Wake Up? Around 8am. Saturday is my sleep-in day and Dave gets up with Little Bug! I require a lot of sleep. And I am a night-owl. One of my toughest adjustments to motherhood (Going to bed at a decent hour of the night so that I can get enough sleep)!

(U) Underwear: Not discussing this on the WWW. I am pretty open about a lot of things I never thought I would talk about to the world on here but my underwear is not one of them.

(V) Vegetable You Dislike: Collard greens. My parents LOVE these and I can’t understand why. Leaves for dinner? No, thank you.

(W) What Makes You Run Late: I am a pretty punctual person. I dislike being late. (Probably another one of my pet peeves, actually.) But if I am late, it is most likely due to Little Bug, of course, because babies have a way of timing dirty diapers just as you are walking out the door.

(X) X-Rays You've Had Done: Do dental x-rays count?

(Y) Yummy Food You Make: Another funny one…Dave is the chef around here. (And an excellent one too!) But I have learned to cook things so that my daughter has healthy meals when the chef is at his other job.

(Z) Zoo, Favorite Animal: Giraffes. We always go see the giraffes. They are just so oddly beautiful and graceful. Little Bug enjoys seeing the giraffes and even more getting to feed them.

Well, that was fun. Thought I would throw in some fun to all the serious posts lately. More serious is coming as I have done more processing of emotions this weekend and have some more to share this week…
