PottyWise

Feb 22, 2011

Yep, there is a PottyWise book and I’ve read it. I know you aren’t surprised.

For someone who did stress out about their child’s eating and sleeping habits when they were first born (and well into their first year of life!), I really am relaxed about potty training and have a go-with-the-flow mentality about it.

Now, if Little Bug is not potty trained by her 3rd birthday it may be a different story… Smile

The way I see it is she will learn one day and whether she learns to pee and poop in the potty before her 2nd birthday or during her 3rd or 4th year…it just doesn’t really matter. She will learn…one day.

It was extremely important to me that she learn good eating and sleeping habits from the start, however, but that is another story…

I like how PottyWise explains “potty issues”. As with everything concerning babies and children, there is no right or wrong way to do anything. Each family must weigh their options and choose what is best for their baby and family as a whole.

PottyWise is all about figuring out when your child is showing signs of readiness and then going with it.

Little Bug shows some of the signs of readiness (on page 21) but I don’t feel like the time is right to start training her now.

My guess is she will be ready in the near future. If I had to predict, I’d say she might be ready around her second birthday. Only time will tell.

But then again, I have no timeframe set in my mind that we will start on a particular day with training and I really feel no stress at all concerning this topic! (Hope it continues this way!)

I’m just trusting that I’ll know when it’s time to start the process and that it will be easy for both Little Bug and me!
