As we are on the countdown to Little Bug’s 2nd birthday, I thought it would be fun to flashback and post some pictures of Little Bug way back when …

… she was a baby …

… because there is nothing baby about this little girl anymore!

This picture was taken in the NICU when Little Bug was just 5 days old! I remember those days like they were yesterday. A tiny little peanut of a baby that loved to be swaddled. That green paci was about half the size of her little face. Her cry was so teeny tiny. Really, everything about her was teeny tiny as she was barely five pounds. Except my love for her. It was greater than anything I could have ever imagined and it has only grown more in the past 2 years. Amazing. The love a mother has for her child is just simply, amazing. I’ve said it once and I will probably say it a million times more…The answer is YES, you can love an adopted child as if you gave birth to her yourself. I learned that while standing over this precious baby in her isolate in the NICU.

Here Little Bug is at 4.5 months old. We had just bought this stroller because Little Bug was no longer content to stroll around in her Snap-n-Go stroller because she couldn’t see the world. I should have known then…from the time Little Bug became aware of the world around her, she has been interested in learning and interacting with everything and everyone she comes into contact with. She doesn’t miss a thing and didn’t miss a thing, even as a tiny infant. She wasn’t one to just fall asleep in the stroller because…she didn’t want to miss a thing!

I love this picture of Little Bug at 6.5 months old, right before her very first Christmas. She had just started sitting up and her face is just a picture of sweetness.

Babies grow f-a-s-t.
