My To Do List & a sneak peak
Jun 27, 2011
I don’t think I’ve ever in my life been as productive as I was on Friday and Saturday!
This is what we (my parents, Dave, Amanda and I) accomplished this weekend alone:
- painted Sweet Pea’s room
- rearranged furniture in nursery
- moved the bookcase with children’s books into the hallway
- painted the trim on the garage
- tilled and mulched an area in the backyard
- mowed the lawn
- washed and folded Sweet Pea’s clothes
- planted gerber daisies in the front yard
- pulled weeds out of flower beds
- hung picture frame & wall décor in our bedroom
I didn’t want any of that looming over my head anymore and I am so thankful my family came together and helped me cross these items off the list!
And now, what you have been waiting for…
Sweet Pea’s nursery (so far)!!
This picture was taken standing at the door looking into the nursery. The crib is actually going to go where the rocking chair is so I will have to find another spot for the rocking chair.
This picture was taken standing by the rocking chair looking back towards the door of the nursery. The guest bed will remain in the nursery and be incorporated into the décor of the room.
I can’t wait to get the crib and bedding now!
I plan to hang Sweet Pea’s (real!) name above her crib. I am going to get these white letters from Babies R Us and paint them the deep plum purple of the pillowcase on the twin bed in the above picture.
I love the colors Amanda picked out! She has an awesome eye for things like this and these two colors are so pretty together.
Because I keep myself so guarded during the adoption process, I don’t allow myself to think too far into the future. But seeing the once empty extra bedrooms of my home being transformed into bedrooms for my two little girls (two little girls?!?!) is simply amazing.
God has done some pretty amazing miracles in my life over the past 2 years.
