Our Little Glow Worm
Aug 06, 2011
When we arrived at the hospital this morning, this is what we saw:
Sweet Pea is light free, except for one billi light that can be swaddled with her in her blankets.
This means …
… we can now HOLD OUR BABY GIRL!
This morning I fed Sweet Pea with her in my arms.
Right where she belongs.
Just before we left the hospital tonight, Sweet Pea was moved to a crib!
She is laying on the blanket Grace made her!
Sweet Pea is still swaddled with the bili blanket.
We call her our little glow worm!
Sweet Pea is doing fabulous.
Her bilirubin levels have dropped to 10 and she has not had morphine since 5pm.
Tonight and tomorrow are big for Sweet Pea.
Now that she is off the morphine we will really get a good picture of what her withdrawals are going to be like.
The nurses told me tonight that once Sweet Pea could be swaddled, she became a new baby. Hopefully those early jitters really were a result of being an unswaddled newborn on phototherapy lights and not from drug withdrawal.
Tonight and tomorrow will tell.
Keep praying!
