And here is yet another example of how God has shown that HE IS IN CONTROL of all things, big or small.

Sweet Pea was born Tuesday morning and we were not able to meet her until Thursday afternoon.

Tuesday night as I lay in bed trying to go to sleep I would close my eyes and see a teeny tiny baby laying all alone by herself in a hospital.

I knew even her birth mother couldn’t be there to comfort her because I knew Sweet Pea had been transferred to a different hospital shortly after her birth because of her medical issues.

Laying there in the dark of the night with only these thoughts swirling through my head made it really hard to go to sleep that night.

But it was one more opportunity for God to show me again Who is in control of all things.

That night I prayed for Sweet Pea and in particular I prayed that God would send a special doctor or nurse that would take Sweet Pea under her wings.

Not long after we arrived at the hospital, Sweet Pea’s doctor came by. She had tears in her eyes as we told her our story. She is the one who gave us permission to hold Sweet Pea for a little bit even though she was on triple phototherapy.

On Saturday Sweet Pea’s doctor dropped by and said, “So, you live in (name of our city)?” I said, “Yes.”

The she said, “Would you be interested in being transferred to the hospital in (name of our city)?”

We immediately said, “YES!!!”

And then I told the doctor again how God is in control of ALL aspects of our life and I hadn’t even thought about even asking about a transfer because I just assumed it wasn’t possible.

All things are possible with God.

The doctor shared with us that she had been so excited to learn Sweet Pea was an adoption case and had come running when she learned the adoptive parents were at the bedside.

I asked the doctor if she had been Sweet Pea’s doctor since she arrived and she told me she had.

I told her I had specifically prayed that God would send someone that would take Sweet Pea under their wings and that she was the answer to my prayers.

She smiled and said, “I just love this! Adoption is such a picture of God’s love.”

She then told us that on the day she met us, she learned she is expecting another baby. This baby is a complete surprise as she has a 9 month old son! She told me that she and her husband were shocked and a little overwhelmed, but I told her God’s got this and He is in control and she will be just fine.

My story ministered to her heart and God had used her to watch over Sweet Pea and to take a special interest in her until I could get to her.

Dr. Marvelous stopped by Sweet Pea’s bedside late yesterday with even better news than a transfer!
