Another good day…so far

Aug 09, 2011

I'm sitting here with my mom by Sweet Pea's bedside. Sweet Pea has had a good day so far.

Her morphine dosage has been decreased and she has been moved to a 3 to 4 hour feeding schedule to allow her more time to sleep between feedings if she wants.

Sweet Pea's scores through last night were 2, 3, 4, 5 and 5. Her most recent score was a 4. Anything below 8 is good.

The doctor came by and I of course asked her when the next goal for discharge is. It is still a little early to predict that, but she did give an estimate of Thursday, Friday or Saturday. I'm still just taking things one day at a time as I know with a situation like this things are subject to change at any given moment.

Having my parents, brother and Little Bug here today has been wonderful! My mom and I came up to the hospital this morning while Little Bug went to Wal-Mart with the boys.

I am so proud of my Little Bug. She is doing so well. She has missed several naps with the trips to come visit us and she has been waking earlier as she tends to do when she is away from home because she doesn't want to miss a thing, but overall, Little Bug is doing fabulous, all things considering. Before Sweet Pea's birth, I was very concerned about how we would manage NICU life and keep Little Bug somewhat on a routine. God has been so good to take care of even that by giving me parents that have kept Little Bug going on her routine as much as possible and by providing a place for us all to stay for a couple days so I can spend some time with my big girl in between hospital visits.

God really does take care of our EVERY need!!

Keep praying for Sweet Pea's complete healing.
