Scratch That
Aug 22, 2011
We are here another night, at least.
Here are the facts:
Culture A was taken on Friday night. This culture has a bacteria (enterococcus) growing in it.
Culture B was taken Saturday night. No bacteria is growing in this culture.
Apparently IF a certain type of bacteria is growing in Culture A, we are here for 10 days.
IF the bacteria is NOT the certain type (certain type is my technical medical term!) of bacteria they are looking for then we can go home tomorrow.
They are trying to determine if the bacteria growing in Culture A is a contaniment or not.
So, we are here at least another night until the doctor can figure out what is growing in Culture A and if it needs to be treated. If it has to be treated it would most likely be through IV antibiotics for 10 days (we are on day 3 of antibiotics so that would mean we would be here 7 more days).
One day at a time…
