Christmas Morning

Christmas Day was…perfect!
Sweet Pea was the first up so we got some pictures of her in her Christmas pjs on her first Christmas!
Everyone had milk time on Mommy’s lap but we stopped to take a picture. I wish they were looking at the camera and smiling (is that really asking too much?!?), but I LOVE this picture. My heart is so full of love for these two.
Daddy read and acted out the Christmas Story using the Little People Nativity Set. Little Bug thought that was awesome!
Little Bug helped Sweet Pea open a present. It was her first Bible! After Sweet Pea was around the Christmas action for about half an hour, I could tell she was on the brink of overstimulation so we put her in her highchair and she hung out there until naptime. I was sad she couldn’t stay right there with us, but I knew it was best for her to get away from all the action so we could avoid her getting overstimulated. I just thought about how next Christmas the overstimulation will be a thing of the past for her.
Then Little Bug started opening her presents. We wanted to stick to our 3 gift rule however I slipped in a fourth gift for both girls because they each gave each other a present!
Little Bug LOVED this dollhouse! I bought it when she was around Sweet Pea’s age at the second hand store and was holding on to it to give to her now! She has played with it every day. Currently there are two plastic toy elephants that she got as stocking stuffers hanging out with the dollhouse family in their house!
We gave her the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It came with a Grinch and when she saw him she said, “He is mean!”. We have read the story twice and now she knows that he becomes “nice”!
My plan to kick off potty training was to give her a potty seat and panties for Christmas. She was not as excited as I had thought she would be. Oh well.
Then Little Bug saw what was in her stocking.
While Sweet Pea napped, we played with toys and got ready to go over to my parents’ house where we would have Christmas dinner with both of our families later in the day!
We didn’t take our family Christmas picture until we got to my parents’ house.
