Yesterday she started having lots of very runny diapers that has caused a BAD rash on her bottom.

Our first thoughts were that the cause of this could be from having no Zantac for the past two days, but when I talked to the GI doctor this morning he assured me that having no Zantac was NOT the cause of her symptoms.

He said it could be a reaction to the switch from ready-made formula to powder formula or it could be a virus that will just have to run it’s course over the next 3-5 days.

Today it’s a guessing game as to what it could be.

On Tuesday we did start giving her 1/3 ready-made to 2/3 powder formula. So maybe her system isn’t liking that.

Or maybe she has a virus.

Whatever it is, she is pathetic today, crying more than we have heard her cry since she was a month old.

Her bottom is raw and she screams through every diaper change. She is sleeping now and when she wakes up I am going to have her be diaperless for a long while so her rash can get some air.

Her appetite is the same. She is drinking her bottles well and she ate an entire container of sweet potatoes this morning for breakfast.

I am torn as to what to do. I don’t want to take her off powder formula if she has a virus, but if this is a reaction to the powder formula, I don’t want another drop of powder formula entering her body and I want to put her back 100% on read-made even though it costs an arm and a leg.

Please pray that this will resolve itself soon and that we will have wisdom to figure out what is going on.
