Frustrated
Apr 10, 2012
I probably shouldn’t have done this but after I didn’t hear from the pedi once lunchtime came and went, I called the GI office.
I probably shouldn’t have two doctor’s involved, but I just simply want SOMEONE to listen to me.
I’m perhaps not being patient, either. But I am sick of this.
I want some definite answers and blood work seems the only way to get them.
So when I called the GI office I got Nurse Grumpypants.
Our conversation ended with me saying, “What would the harm be in getting blood work done?”
Her response, “Well it would be an unnecessary prick to Miss Sweet Pea.”
To which I said, “I would MUCH rather her get pricked and us get some definite answers than putting her through all THIS again two weeks from now when I put her back on more powder.”
So now it’s a race to see who calls me first, I guess.
Sweet Pea has had 6 diapers today, her rash is still bad and she hasn’t gotten a good afternoon nap because she pooped an hour into the nap.
If this IS a reaction to the formula, I want to KNOW and the only way I CAN know is to rule out a virus.
Is that really a silly request??
I couldn’t prevent all Sweet Pea’s stomach troubles her first months of life due to the drugs, but I sure can prevent another reaction to the powder formula and save us both from a repeat of all this two weeks from now!!
And THAT is simply what I am trying to do today.
I DO NOT want Sweet Pea to go through this again, if it can be helped.
And the blood work will give me the info I need to be able to know what is going on.
Nurse Crankypants is going to “try and track down Dr. G” and get back with me.
