New Living Room Carpet

Apr 16, 2012

Three years of spit, puke, pee, poop and dirt and it was time for new living room carpet!

We had it installed today and it proved to be much entertainment for Little Bug and me as we are (still) waiting for Sweet Pea to get over whatever it is she has.

(Yes, the runny diapers continue. Day 11. Rash is healed!! I’m still putting the creams on for fear of the rash returning with all these runny diapers.)

We watched them tear the old carpet up.

Only sentimental me could be sad to see it go! After all, my baby learned to crawl on that carpet!! It’s special!! (hehe!)

Goodbye carpet!

When it was all pulled up, I got a sharpie and wrote our four names (which I cropped out of this picture), the date and the verse that held this family together as we waited to see how God was going to grow our family.

Little Bug wanted to draw a picture so she drew this:

We left the men to work after that and came back to our bedroom where we read books, did a learning activity and then went outside for a bit before it was time to feed Sweet Pea her lunch.

We’d peek in every so often to see the progress being made. They were fast workers. They were done in about 2.5 hours!

Once the girls were in bed for naptime, I got the living room put back together and it looks so nice and clean!!

Wonder who will be the first to pee, poop, drool or puke on the new carpet?? Smile

Next up in the home improvements department is hardwood in the hallways. I cannot for the life of me keep the carpet in the hallways clean with all the traffic that comes by there. We have our carpets professionally cleaned every year and the spots in the hallway go away only to return a few weeks later. So, hardwood it is.
