Pup is a Hero!

Pup doesn’t get much mention on the blog since the girls came around, but she saved the day the other day…

It was around 11:30am on Monday morning a few weeks ago and Little Bug and I were just about to read books when Pup (and her sister Ellie, who we were dogsitting for my parents while they were on vacation) started barking her head off at the back sliding glass door.

I went over there to tell her to be quiet because Sweet Pea was sleeping and I didn’t want her wake her up.

I looked out the back door and there standing in our backyard was a teenage boy!!! What in the world???!

He had obviously just jumped the fence into our backyard and his buddy, still on the other side of the fence, was about to do the same!!

Until the guy who had already jumped noticed dogs barking and me glaring at him as if to say, “WHAT do you think you are doing in my backyard?!?”

Their plan (whatever it was) was averted by Pup’s LOUD barking and the dude jumped back over the fence and I saw the two going away through the easement behind our backyard.

I have no idea what their plan was. A break-in attempt?? Or perhaps they were just teenagers skipping school and were looking for a short cut back to their own neighborhood. I don’t know.

I was just extremely thankful for Pup and Ellie that day because had those teenagers approached the house with me there with my two little girls I would have freaked out and obviously called 911 before quickly setting the house alarm.

Good little (harmless) yapper dogs!!!!
