LID: What does THAT mean??!

May 26, 2012

I’ve gotten to where I don’t really post much on the weekends, but… this is exciting news on the adoption front concerning my friend Melissa and it can’t wait until next week!

She and her husband, Ryan, are in the process to adopt from China and after MANY delays and hiccups along the way they FINALLY received their LID (log in date)!!!!!!!!!!!

Now if you are not familiar with international adoption (as I wasn’t before I met Melissa!), you probably don’t know what a “LID” is.

Every month, China releases a list of eligible babies up for adoption. In order for Melissa’s stateside agency to be able to possibly match them with a baby, they have to have a LID.

The next list goes out on MONDAY and since Melissa and Ryan received their LID on Friday, they have a very real possibility of being matched with their baby on Monday!!!!!

We all know that God knows their baby and the day they will be matched, but will you join with me and pray for Simi (their social worker) who has the incredible job of matching adoptive families with their babies? Pray that their baby will be on this list Monday!!

Melissa and Ryan are so anxious to see their baby’s face and move on to the next step of this adoption process.

They’ve been told that once you receive your LID, you are matched with your baby within THREE MONTHS.

They are closer than they’ve ever been in seeing their baby’s face and knowing if their baby is a boy or girl!!!

Hopefully…just TWO DAYS AWAY!

Melissa blogged about receiving their LID here.

We’ve got a fun weekend ahead. A certain little girl is turning three years old TOMORROW! Oh, how I remember three years ago from today like it was just yesterday…

We will celebrate tomorrow with a family birthday party and then we will have her “Minnie Mouse” (her request!!) birthday party in a couple weeks from now. Planning for that is in high gear!

Pray for Melissa and Ryan and enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend as we remember all the sacrifice that has been made to make this a free country!
