Little Bug loved the Do-A-Dot activity from last week so much that I decided to print the letter Ii Do-A-Dot Page for her to do this week. Last week, she ran out of magnets to put on the Hh, but this week there were just enough magnets for the letter Ii. She was thrilled about that!

This is another favorite for her. She enjoys writing the letters.

Little Bug made an Iguana!

Little Bug did Inchworm Counting. She had to count the number of inchworms in each box and put the correct number beside the inchworms. I was very proud of her for doing this because 6 months ago, her attention span would not have allowed her to be able to focus on something like this! But now, she was able to count many of the boxes on her own. This is a good activity for teaching number recognition, which we are working on.

On this day, she wasn’t wearing her pink dress, but she was wearing one princess shoe and one slipper!

Several of our activities centered around “ice cream”!

We made an ice cream cone with Little Bug’s handprint!

Little Bug made “Homemade Ice Cream in a Bag” with Grandma!

This was so much fun to do and it tasted so delicious! First, they put several of the ingredients in the ziplock bag.

Then they put ice cubs in a gallon ziplock bag.

The smaller ziplock bag was placed in the gallon ziplock bag and then they shook the bags for 5 minutes!

After 5 minutes, we had ice cream! Little Bug couldn’t resist a lick with her finger! After she ate her lunch, she ate a couple scoops of ice cream! That was a real treat for her!

We made Puffy Ice Cream Cones! We mixed 3 parts shaving cream to 1 part Elmer’s glue, added some food coloring and then mixed.

Little Bug used her fingers (and eventually her whole hand!) to put the ice cream on the cone. She kept wanting to eat this! I had to keep telling her it wasn’t real ice cream. Since we had made real ice cream the day before, I guess she thought she could eat this “ice cream” too!

Once it dries, the ice cream puffs out on the page! I must say, the “messy factor” with this was pretty high, but so was the “fun factor”! I thought we would make two, but she wanted to make four and she probably would have kept going after that.

A couple days before we did this, I put a small Pooh figurine in a tupperware bowl with some water and put it in the freezer.

Then I set up Little Bug’s water table in the backyard and put the ice block with Pooh Bear “stuck” in the water. Little Bug had fun trying to free Pooh Bear by getting the ice to melt.

Little Bug did Inchworm Pre-Writing Practice. These pages are laminated and I bought dry erase markers for Little Bug to use to write on these pages. The first time we did this, she did not want to do this on her own. She wanted me to help her hold the marker to write. Then, the next morning while I was fixing breakfast, she decided she wanted to write on her own. We erased what we had written together the day before and she did these all on her own!

This was Inchworm Counting. Little Bug counted the number of “bites” on the leaf and then put the inchworm with that number on the leaf.

We wrapped “I Week” up with an “Itsy Bitsy Spider” Sequences of Events activity. We talked about what was happening on each card and then Little Bug put the story in sequential order. We also, of course, sang the song. It is one of her favorites!
