Haiti: Magnet for 3 year olds!

Jul 16, 2012

Last night the team held a rally outdoors in Canaan. The people came down the mountain carrying chairs to join in the rally and to worship the Lord. The team got to experience something that is just a beautiful sight (and sound) when you are on a mission trip: the sound of people worshipping the same God that you worship but in a different language! It is quite possibly one of the most beautiful and most moving sounds I heard while on my mission trips.

When I chatted with Dave last night he told me a little girl about Little Bug’s age approached him and was taken with him. He told me he held her for a little while. Then I saw this picture on the team’s Facebook page:

What I wouldn’t give to have my arms wrapped around Dave’s neck like that precious little girl had her arms wrapped around my man, BUT I wouldn’t want Dave anywhere else on this earth right now than in Haiti serving the Lord through serving the Haitians.

Dave also told me that it started to rain during the rally. He told me he prayed that the rain would go as quickly as it had come. Then, just as he finished his prayer, he said the rain stopped. It cooled things off for a bit too and Dave said it was like God did that on purpose to make things a little cooler for them.

Today Dave is participating in the Men’s Conference.

One more thing: Dave said the food is good, so that must mean it really is!
