Saturday, the day of Sweet Pea’s birthday party, she woke up with a runny nose. As the day went on she was just fussy and that is so unlike her! She seriously goes days and weeks without crying. But something wasn’t right that day and the baby who was about to have a SMILEY FACE birthday party was crying and fussing!

How ironic!

I look crazy in this picture, but I had to include this one because of the irony!

She wasn’t all tears! She did smile some!

But she was obviously teething.

Little Bug was thrilled we were having a party at our house. She played with her friends non-stop the entire party. We had a slip n slide for the big kids and they really enjoyed that.

Sweet Pea didn’t hesitate in getting into her cake!

Uncle Wesley helped her get to the cake through the icing.

She mainly played with the icing…

…exploring it in her hands!

She did manage to make a huge mess with her cake and there was yellow icing everywhere!

Sweet Pea got some very nice gifts. She didn’t want to let this turtle toy go!

It was a wonderful celebration of Sweet Pea’s first year even though the theme really didn’t match the baby on that particular day!
