W week!
Sep 21, 2012
Oops…this got lost in the drafts, so here it is today…
Little Bug wanted to make a pattern with the Do-A-Dot letter W.
Little Bug wrote the letter Ww.
We made a watermelon handprint!
We did a Windy Fan Experiment. We gathered objects and held them in front of the fan to see if they would fly in the wind of the fan or fall straight to the floor.
I would ask Little Bug to predict if she thought the object would fly or not. She was right most of the time in her predictions!
We categorized the objects based on whether it flew in the wind or not.
We made a whirligig! Little Bug painted a piece of paper and then I cut it.
We talked about weather and seasons.
First, we read two books about seasons. We talked about what happens in nature during every season.
Then Little Bug placed the tree on the correct square to indicate what season it is in.
Little Bug watched “Frosty the Snowman” and told me it is winter when Frosty is here!
From these printed weather cards we talked about all the different types of weather.
Then, each day for a week, we would look out the window and see what the weather was like that day and put the correct weather card on our Weather Poster.
We read Bears on Wheels.
After we read the book, I handed her my camera and told her to go take pictures of things with wheels!
We ended the week watching a Word World show called “W Drought”!
