Our First Day: Fall!
Oct 10, 2012
Last week we started our first of two weeks learning all about Fall!!
We started by making a Fall Tree. Using our fingerprints, we made red, yellow and orange leaves on our tree.
Sweet Pea did her first painting project that day! Hers is the smaller tree!
Sweet Pea is now awake for about half of our Learning Time because her morning nap has shortened. I want to incorporate some learning activities for her if she is around as we are doing them!
This day, we were painting the Fall Tree, so I got the paint bottles and put them on the floor and let her play with them! She had a ball! And when she was done with that she played in her kitchen cabinet (where the tuperware is) until I helped her make her own little Fall Tree.
Here she is ready to paint for the first time!
While Sweet Pea was exploring the paint bottles and the tupperware, Little Bug and I were having some more fun with some Fall activities!
Little Bug found and circled the picture that was different. This was a first for her. She had no problem finding the one that was different. I would ask her to tell me why each one was different. I love that she said, “It doesn’t have as many spikes.” when she was describing the different leaf!
We did some patterns with leaves, apples, scarecrows and other “fall” items. Little Bug is still loving patterns. This was was her first ABC pattern and she nailed it the first time! The hardest one for her on this page was the AAB pattern (rake, rake, squirrel) but after looking over it twice she got it!
