I haven’t been blogging about our “house hunt” lately because things came up with the house that we had our offer accepted on and we’ve just been in waiting mode ever since.

The home inspection was done on the house on February 19th and while there was nothing structurally wrong, the AC was found to not be in working order and the deck on the back of the house did not pass inspection along with several other things here and there that had been neglected on normal upkeep of the house through the years. We knew we'd have to get help from the seller in fixing/replacing these things or else we'd have to walk from the house because financially we were just not prepared to have to spend money on these repairs/replacements.

After nearly two weeks of negotiations, we worked out an agreement with the seller that will allow us to move forward in purchasing this house! We've done a lot of praying during this time period that God would continue to open doors and make the seller agreeable to our requests IF this was the house HE had for us.

The seller has been more than pleasant to work with and has been more than fair to us throughout this process. The seller is a realtor herself and just so happens to live right next door to this house! She bought the house for her father-in-law to live in and he lived there until his death and then she turned it into a rental home.

I look forward to one day personally meeting this woman and thanking her for being so cooperative with us throughout this process. I can hardly believe the seller of this house is going to be our next-door neighbor!
