the girls see the house!

Mar 21, 2013

The girls had not seen the house yet and on Friday, March 15th our realtor let us in to show the girls, my aunt, uncle, grandmother and mom. Our realtor is so sweet!

When Little Bug woke up that morning I told her, “Guess where we are going today?”. And she said, “DISNEY?!?!”

I said, “Nope! To see your new house!”

I had the video rolling when the girls walked into the house for the first time, but my mom snapped this picture of the girls walking in the front door!

Of course they went in two directions so I followed Little Bug around as she was taking it all in. She was so excited to see her room! I knew she was going to love those mirrors!

I found Sweet Pea in her room playing peek-a-boo in the closet!

Before we went out to the backyard we all gathered (realtor included!) around in the living room, held hands and my mom lead us in prayer thanking God for providing us with this house. It was a very special time. And then we took a picture together in front of the fireplace.

Then we headed to the backyard. Little Bug had been dying to go out there as soon as she was done walking through the house. She had a ball running around. I am so thankful my children will have this space to play through the years!

Sweet Pea just took it all in like Sweet Pea does. She won’t ever remember a time when she didn’t live here! Just like I don’t remember living anywhere else but the house I grew up in!

Papaw and Sweet Pea had fun playing chase in the front yard.

As we were out in the yard the neighbor across the street came out with his dog. I walked over to meet him and introduce myself as his new neighbor! Such a sweet old man. He and his wife have lived in the neighborhood for the past 30 years and have been married for 56 years. He gave us the run down of the entire street. We are the youngest family on the street as everyone else is basically a retired older couple. How sweet. AND QUIET! I look forward to getting to know my elderly neighbors and ministering to them as God provides the opportunities!

As we were talking to Mr. Bob, his next door neighbor walked out to take in his garbage can and my mom recognized him as a former member of our church! Sure enough, it was and he came out to talk to us too. When I worked in the church nursery back when I was in college, I remember the daughter being one of the kids I would keep in nursery! And now she is 20 years old and can babysit my girls if I ever needed a babysitter. (hehe)

Little Bug didn’t want to leave. She was having too much fun playing in the yard!

I am ready to start the packing/moving process and get settled in this house and make it our home!
