The moving adventures continue…

Apr 13, 2013

Last night Dave’s parents and Amanda showed up at the house at 5:30pm ready to load all the boxes we have packed to take them to the new house.

By 5:50pm half the boxes were all in the three cars and we were pulling out of the driveway and headed to the house for the first of two trips. I was thinking, Wow, we loaded all that in 20 minutes, this is going to be a piece of cake and all these boxes are going to be moved, no problem!

We arrived at the new house and there was this hissing sound coming from one of the tires on Dave’s dad’s 4-runner! Yes---it was going flat right there before our eyes! I, once again, just started laughing! Apparently, nothing in this process can go off without something happening!

So much for an uneventful moving night!

Dave and his dad changed the tire and then we went to grab a bite to eat, Dave and his dad took the second load which all fit in the 4-runner and Amanda, Mom and I went down to Amanda’s to eat Chocolate Delight (I should put the recipe up on here! It is so good!) and wait for the guys to get back.

And then I realized something marvelous. Because we didn’t have to finish taking boxes in the morning since we were able to get them all over to the house last night, we got to sleep in this morning!!! A huge thank you to my parents for this blessed gift of sleep.

And a huge thank you to my wonderful in-laws and Amanda for helping us move all those boxes to the house!! DSC01924

I feel refreshed now and ready for the next phase of this moving process: actually moving in the house! We will start this weekend and week with moving boxes and lose items that didn’t need to be boxed before the Big Move of furniture on April 22nd. The hardwood floor installation should be finished on Monday and then we can really start moving things in.

We are on the countdown!
