Spring
Jun 12, 2013
After moving and getting settled, we picked back up on Learning Time and did some fun Spring activities in May.
Little Bug did a D is for duck dot paper.
We learned about the pond and what plants and animals are in/near the pond.
We learned about animals that hatch from an egg. I put a picture of animals that hatch from an egg in each egg and then Little Bug had fun opening the egg to see what animal was inside. We also did some simple addition/subtraction with the eggs & animals. For example: There are 8 eggs and 3 of the eggs hatched! How many have not hatched?
After she had opened them all, I asked her to find me animals that start with the letters: S, P, B, T, etc.
Little Bug found the animal that was different than the others in each row.
We learned the parts of a duck: bill, eye, breast, feet, tail & wings.
We read Home for a Bunny about a little bunny who went around trying to find a home. He tried several homes, but nothing was quite right until he found a burrow to live in.
Then we made Cupcake Liner Bunnies.
Sweet Pea is actually the one who made this! I was home with the girls one evening and Little Bug wanted to go in the homeschool room so we went. She wanted to make a princess crown out of paper so while she worked on that I sat Sweet Pea at the table and let her work on this Stained Glass Easter Egg! She loved sticking the small squares of tissue paper on to the contact paper. Looks like she will be ready to start my ABC Learning Time in the fall!
Little Bug made a Spring Tree using q-tips.
We read a variety of Spring themed books from our library.
