Nursery Rhymes
Sep 05, 2013
We finally finished up our Themed Learning Times about a week before we started homeschool!
We read the poem “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep”.
Little Bug did this Do-A-Dot page.
We read “Little Bo-Peep”.
Little Bug did some simple math.
We read Humpty Dumpty and found rhyming words.
Little Bug made a Humpty Dumpty Craft. First she had to put Humpty Dumpty back together again by gluing the pieces to the paper. Then she wanted me to draw his face and she put the bandaids on his boo-boos.
We saved our Itsy Bitsy Spider activity for after naptime so Sweet Pea could participate.
We made an Itsy Bitsy Spider book. The girls worked together coloring the pages.
Little Bug drew rain on this page:
Sweet Pea glued the sun on this page. Little Bug thought our sun needed rays so she drew those.
Little Bug did a sequencing activity by putting the pages in order before I stapled them together to make the book.
I bought My Treasury of Nursery Rhymes for $5 at Ross when Little Bug was just a baby. It was worth every single penny and then some. It is probably one of the top 10 books we have read over and over again. Before Little Bug was even interested in books, I can remember I would get this book out and read the poems out loud while she played. As a one-year-old this was one of her favorite books.
This week we enjoyed pulling this book out yet again and reading through many pages of poems.
