{Books We Read}

This week our Ready-Made Preschool book was Fox in Socks, which was Dave’s favorite book growing up. Let’s just say I am glad Little Bug isn’t following in her Daddy’s footsteps as far as this book goes. I wouldn’t want to read this book every.day. It’s a tongue twister but it was fun to read to her for a week! Since there was a focus on Dr. Seuss we also read several other Dr. Seuss titles throughout the week. During reading times we would find rhyming words throughout the books.

{Letter of the Week}

The Letter of the Week was Letter Xx. Little Bug put six sixes on her letter x. Since we couldn’t find pictures of things that started with or had an “x” in them, I let Little Bug paint the Letter x onto her ABC Book page. She made the Letter x with the magnet letter builders.

{Dr. Seuss and Rhyming Words}

We had fun with Rhyming Words this week! Little Bug glued the cards onto the yellow squares and then she matched the words that rhymed. She also got to make puppets that went along with the poem “Hey Diddle Diddle”. She told me the poem using the puppets and then once Sweet Pea was up from her nap, Little Bug told the poem to her sister too using the puppets. There was a Dr. Seuss hat that Little Bug was to paint. This didn’t turn out too well and frustrated Little Bug. This was the first activity that frustrated her. The hat was tearing as she was painting and it really was hard to paint while trying to not get red paint on the white areas. So we abandoned that and decided to make our own Dr. Seuss hat instead! She loved that hat and even wanted me to cut out a Dr. Seuss bow for her to wear.

Little Bug had three more poems to add to her Nursery Rhyme Notebook.

{Mudpies to Magnets}

Our science experiment this week was another Sensory activity. There were two of every object in the box. Little Bug reached in and pulled out an object and then Sweet Pea had to reach in and try to find the same object by feeling around. They took turns in who would pull out an item first and who would try to find the same item.
